FOREIGN ATHLETES WITH FOREIGN RESIDENCE

PARTICIPATION OF FOREIGNERS FOR TURISTIC SPORTING PURPOSES

Foreign athletes can also take part in Touristic-Sporting activities as “non-affiliated foreign citizens,” by duly filling out the liability waiver form and uploading an identity document to validate it.
It is specified that foreign athletes referred to are “non-affiliated foreign citizens.” They will be listed alphabetically upon arrival, separate from the rankings of the competitive event, and will not be eligible for any prizes, whether in kind, cash, vouchers, bonuses, fees, or reimbursements of any kind.

ATHLETES REGISTERED WITH FOREIGN FEDERATIONS 

Italian athletes residing abroad, who will turn 18 in 2025 or have already turned 18, can participate.
They must meet one of the following requirements:
– Be affiliated FOR 2025 with Foreign Federations of Athletics, affiliated with World Athletics or IPC. In this case, they must send, at the time of registration, (via email to info@romehalfmarathon.it) a self-certification of membership.
– Hold a RUNCARD FIDAL (in this case, they must be over 20 years old) combined with a medical certificate of fitness for athletics issued by an Italian doctor, which must be presented to the organizers in original and kept, in copy, by the organizing company.

The Bib

The race kit can be collected at the Expo Village at Eataly Roma Ostienze, Piazzale XII Ottobre 1492. You will need to bring with you an identity document and the confirmation letter available in your reserved area, one week before the event. Check that your registration is REGULAR (two OKs). In the case of collection by proxy, the delegating person must also complete and sign the lower part of the Confirmation Letter and give the letter and a copy of his/her ID to the delegate.

Bibs and race packs will be collected at the Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon by Brooks village.

THERE WILL BE NO BIB AND RACE PACKET DELIVERY SERVICE ON SUNDAY 18 OCTOBER.

In order to collect your bib number, you will need to bring with you the printed Confirmation Letter and your identity document (confirmation letters can be downloaded from the website one week before the race).

You will also need to check that your registration is REGULAR (two green stickers). Check your registration here.

For athletes with irregular registration

  • FIDAL MEMBERS

Athletes with FIDAL membership who have IRREGULAR REGISTRATION must regularise their membership position with their club before coming to collect their bib number.

Athletes who are suspended on the FIDAL portal (expired medical certificate) will not be able to collect their bib number even if they bring their valid medical certificate to the bib collection: it will be their President who will have to regularise their position on the Fidal portal and only when it has been regularised will they be given their bib number.

  • RUNCARD CARD CARDHOLDERS

Runcard registered athletes with IRREGULAR registration must, as soon as they are in possession of it, upload the valid medical certificate on the Runcard portal and bring it in original at the bib collection

  • TOURIST SPORTING GOALS

If you are a foreign athlete with residence abroad, you can participate with the Liability Waiver Form. In order to complete your registration simply go to your reserved area, read the liability waiver form, accept it with the check box and to validate your registration upload a copy of your identity document (where your nationality is clearly visible).

  • MEMBERS OF CLUBS RECOGNIZED BY WORLD ATHLETIC

If you are members of clubs affiliated with foreign athletic associations recognized by WORLD ATHLETICS you have to send the Declaration for athletes registered with a Foreign Federation competed and signed by e-mail to info@romehalfmarathon.it. The membership card must be valid on the date of the Rome Half Marathon, it must comply with all the rules and regulations on road running enforced in the athlete’s country of residence upon registration. To make the declaration valid, we ask you to also send a copy of your ID.

  • IRREGULAR REGISTRATION DUE TO A DEBT

Athletes with IRREGULAR REGISTRATION due to a debt (debt does not mean the registration fee but a partial debt with respect to the same) if unable to pay the balance, they can pay directly at the Village by queuing up the irregulars.

The confimration letter will be sent one week before the race. In order to receive the confirmation letter, you must click on “CHECK REGISTRATION” and enter “NAME”-“SURNAME”-“DATE OF BIRTH” and once in your personal area you will be able to download the confirmation letter.

It is possible to collect the bib number for another athlete by filling in the DELEGATION already on the confirmation letter.

The confimration letter will be sent one week before the race. In order to receive the confirmation letter, you must click on “CHECK REGISTRATION” and enter “NAME”-“SURNAME”-“DATE OF BIRTH” and once in your personal area you will be able to download the confirmation letter.

The delegate must show his/her own identity document and a copy of the delegating person’s document.

Without what has been specified above, IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO WITHDRAW THE BIB OF ANOTHER ATHLETE (not even if he/she is a Company Manager).

The race kit and bib number cannot be collected on race day. Make sure to pick them up by Saturday 17 at the Expo Village.

The race kit includes the bib number, a technical t-shirt provided by Brooks, and several gadgets offered by the sponsors of the Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon by Brooks.

Race day

The bag drop service will be organized using trucks. Each participant will find the number of their designated truck printed on their race bib, where they can leave the bag containing the clothing and personal belongings to be transported to the finish area.

Participants must use the bag provided by the organization, with the race bib tag attached.

The trucks will be located on the side road of Viale delle Terme di Caracalla, between Piazza Numa Pompilio and Piazza di Porta Capena, on the Via Valle delle Camene side.

Bags can be dropped off starting from 6:30 AM. After completing the race, return to this area to collect your bag. The trucks will depart at 2:00 PM.

Any unclaimed bags can be requested by writing to info@romehalfmarathon.it.

The Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon by Brooks uses a wave start system, and the official ranking is based on Real Time, meaning the actual time elapsed between crossing the start line and crossing the finish line.

Athletes will start in 8 waves: the first wave will begin at 8:00 AM, with the following waves departing at intervals of at least 12 minutes.

Participants will access the start area from Piazza di Porta Capena through four entry gates: A, B, C and D. Each gate serves two start waves, and each wave is identified by a specific color.

The color of the number printed on your race bib corresponds to your assigned wave and indicates the gate you must use to enter the start area.

Participants may only access the start area through their assigned gate.

The maximum race time is 3 hours and 30 minutes, allowing for the gradual reopening of roads to traffic.

  • Km 7.7 – Piazza Pio XII, St. Peter’s Colonnade: by 10:40 AM
  • Km 10: by 11:10 AM
  • Km 15: by 11:50 AM
  • Finish Line – Via degli Annibaldi: by 1:00 PM

Cut-off points are located at key locations where roads must be reopened immediately after the last runners pass.

Once the official end-of-race vehicle has passed, race services are no longer guaranteed. This includes insurance coverage, medical assistance, refreshments, and event support. Therefore, participants reaching the course after the cut-off times may be asked by race officials to stop.

The race officially closes at 1:00 PM, and roads will progressively reopen to traffic after the last athlete has passed.

Several groups of Pacers will run at a steady pace, reaching the finish line at predetermined times.

The processing of the rankings will be taken care of by Evodata, using the chip that each athlete will find already attached to the bib and which MUST ABSOLUTELY NOT BE REMOVED until the end of the race.

The chip records the Real Time (which measures the time from the moment you pass the start line to the moment you pass the finish line). Only the Élite group will be classified with the ‘Official Time’ (i.e. the time measured from the start gunshot), all others will be classified according to ‘Real Time’. Real Time will also be taken into account for the awarding of exclusive equipment and for the category awards.

Please write the phone number of a family member or friend on the back of your race bib so they can be contacted in case of emergency.

Medical assistance will be provided by the Italian Red Cross. In addition to the medical teams positioned along the course, the following medical aid stations will be available:

  • Start Area
  • Km 16 – Passeggiata di Ripetta
  • Km 17.5 – Piazza del Popolo
  • Finish and Post-Finish Area

In case of emergency, please call the European emergency number 112.

All those who reach the finish line, within the time limit, will receive the exclusive Wizzair Rome Half Marathon by Brooks finisher’s medal.

The Village

The village will be held at Eataly Roma Ostiense, Piazzale XII Ottobre 1492 and will be open on the following days at the following times:

  • Thursday 15: from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday 16: from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday 17: from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

By metro, line B | Stop Piramide.
Take the subway and you will be at Eataly in just 5 minutes.

By bus:

  • Lines 715 and 716 | Stop Benzoni/Pigafetta, 2 minutes’ walk.
  • Lines 769 and 23 | Ostiense/Matteucci stop, not far from the shop.

From Fiumicino airport, by TAM bus | Eataly stop

The bus connects the airport to the shop, both on the outward and return journeys

Do you use the car? Eataly is in the heart of the Ostiense district!

  • Drive along Via Ostiense or Via Cristoforo Colombo
  • Head towards Piazzale 12 Ottobre 1492
  • Leave your car in one of the parking areas near the entrance
  • In less than 1 minute walk, you will be at Eataly Roma!

More Info

During the Wizz Air Rome Half Marathon by Brooks, there will be medical aid stations distributed along the route and at the finish line. You can ask the organisation staff for assistance if you feel unwell during the race.

For lost and found items, you can contact the assistance service at the Expo or reach out to the organizers after the event. Typically, contact details are provided by the organizers post-event.
